COMMUNION

 Also called:

The Sacrament of the Altar

Holy Communion

The Lordís Supper

The LCMS believes that Scripture

teaches that the Lord's Supper

is a precious gift of God in which

Christ gives us His true body and blood

(in a miraculous way),

together with the bread and wine,

for the forgiveness of our sins and

the strengthening of our faith.

Because the Bible teaches that this sacrament

may also be spiritually harmful if misused,

we follow the instruction of Paul in

1 Corinthians 11:17-34.

We commune those who are able to

examine themselves (confess their sins) and

recognize the true physical body and blood

of Christ in the Supper.

We encourage all those who have questions

about matters related to the

receiving of Communion

to speak with Pastor Lutz

to seek His guidance, counsel and help.
